Tis The Season For Strawberries

One thing is for certain, the season is fleeting. It is almost July. Strawberries abound, it is their time. Living in the northwest with seasonal produce aplenty, I cringe when I thought the california berries I used to buy where it---harvested way before they are ripened so it could be shipped for later (and often tasteless) consumption. Breaking my no fruit diet to go with the ebb and flow of nature, I have enjoyed the wondrous, juicy, fresh varities of strawberries: Hoods, Albions, Tillamooks. Point to living in the moment.

Coffee Kind of Day

It was one of those June gloom kind of a day.

Everything was slow --waking up, moving around, gym time, taking care of business, even mentally...so what is one to do but just follow it through.

By mid afternoon, finally made it a favorite coffee shop, got a blueberry and coconut scone and a large mocha, sipped it slowly while reading a book, looking up many times just to stare at the greenery and people watch...and the world seems to return to normal again, albeit slowly, and even the sun slowly started to peek out.

It was a just a coffee kind of day.
